Ambitious growth strategy revealed as Karis Insurance marks strong first year with raft of new hires
Closing in on its first 12 months of operation, Karis Capital’s insurance arm, led by Solomon Tzouvanni, is celebrating a strong year of growth securing over £2.4 million in premiums to date. Following a successful debut year the department has been further bolstered, as five new heavyweight hires join the growing team.
The latest recruits include Ravi Sejpal joining as Insurance Team Manager, Luke Bale as Head of Specialist Insurance, Natalie Finney as Head of Renewals, Andy Tzouvanni as Head of Client Money and Conor Hamilton as Insurance Broker.
Solomon Tzouvanni, Managing Director of Insurance at Karis Capital, commented: “After successfully growing and selling my own insurance firm I had been on the lookout for a new challenge that would allow me to grow and nurture something special. When the opportunity arose, joining Karis Capital to establish and lead the firm’s insurance division was a no-brainer but I couldn’t have envisaged the incredible success we have enjoyed in such a short space of time.
“This raft of senior hires is a major step towards that goal, whilst we are looking to fill out the team with a further 10 hires before the end of the year. Taking our current growth and trajectory into account we are projecting to hit £5 million in premiums by the end of year 2 and £10 million by the end of year 3.”
While Solomon has been responsible for the department’s initial growth, utilising his long-established bank of contacts combined with decades of industry experience, he has also been instrumental in terms of utilising intuitive technology to enhance and streamline traditional broker methods.
Leveraging bespoke software with a network of complex yet laser accurate algorithms, the Karis Capital insurance team are able to be more agile and nimble compared to many of their competitors.
Sol added: “My aim for the insurance arm of Karis Capital has always been to successfully disrupt the market by utilising modern technology in combination with traditional methods. One recent example is when a developer client came to us having been told that it would take weeks to secure cover for their listed building project. Using our wealth of contacts and unique software we were able to find them the best premium within two days. This is what is setting us apart to our clients who need immediate action in a fast-paced property market.”
Specialising in Latent Defects cover (10-year new-build guarantee) and professional indemnity insurance, the insurance department has worked seamlessly in tandem with the larger Debt Advisory arm of Karis Capital by swiftly securing transactions for multiple long-term clients, whilst also building up its own client base and pipeline.
Working with a mixture of high-profile block managers, leading developers and businesses within the property industry the objective for Karis Capital’s insurance department is to establish itself as the industry’s go-to provider.
